The Wedding

It was a very lovely wedding.  The Brother in law told the story of their romance and they each gave their vows.  The music was beautiful as they came down both sides into the setting.  Rugs were used suggesting Bahia's heritage.  She is actually a Moroccan princess!!

A kiss for history.  All the flowers were done by Bahia and her mother and some were gathered from nature.  Beautiful colors.

Rehearsal Dinner

While some of us were at the rehearsal, some of the wedding people were at Presidio Park holding down the area and setting up the tables and food.  Mitch's aunt and uncle and grandparents and some cousins came from Michigan.  Mitch had friends from Susanville as well as Bahia's mother and grandfather from Lincoln, Ca.

Mitch and his Dad made all the benches that were used at the wedding and the rehearsal dinner and also one of the tables.  They were really nice and they did it because it was cheaper than renting chairs.  It was also more attractive, too.

The Grandmothers.

Mitch was in a boy band group when he was in Susanville and his friends came down and did a lot of the work of moving tables, benches, rugs etc.

Bahia's sister and family.  The pinata has been broken.  We had delicious Mexican food.

Rehearsal for the Wedding

On Friday, August 16 we were invited to the rehearsal in Balboa Park of Mitch and Bahia's wedding.  Stephanie, Carole's daughter, had flown down from Montana and she is taking charge of Maria's dog.

Michael actually came in from North Carolina on Tuesday and flew up to Reno on Wednesday to drive me down to San Diego.  We had a nice visit coming down and we got there in good time.  Bahia's brother in law is going to marry them.

Bahia looks so cute in her cool short dress practicing coming down the walk.

Bahia with her nieces.  They have called Mitch, Uncle Mitch, from the beginning of their romance.  He fit right into the family!

The ladies in the wedding party.  Melissa in the middle and Bahia's sister, sister in law and college friend plus the nieces.

Others in the wedding party are Mitch's father Mark and his wife and Maria, of course.  Also the nephew.

Tripping in the Van...Maria and Johnny

Maria and Johnny set out to visit three State Parks (their ambition is to eventually visit them all?) go to the Silvergate Anderson Cabin, visit Johnny's sister in Utah, snap a picture of Ferrell's in Idaho Falls and visit cousins at Silvergate.  They have a lot of beautiful scenery pix on Maria's Facebook.  This is just a few showing the van Johnny has converted into their traveling abode.  Pretty nice!!

Stephanie Diede visits her Cousins Linda and Maria

Steph is the daughter of my sister Carole and our girls knew each other when they were toddlers and then later when Steph and her husband and children lived down in Escondido for a short time and then later the girls started getting together at the Anderson Cabin in Silvergate and visiting back and forth in Montana or down here.  I am happy they have stayed connected.

As ususal when Stephanie comes down, she and Maria have lots of fun.

Mitch Proposes!

Mitch and Bahia are engaged after a romantic serenading by Mitch to Bahia at the Beach!  Such a darling couple.

Thanksgiving 2017

Thanksgiving Day was simple and delicious.  Johnny, Maria, Matt and I ate at Hennessey's in La Jolla.  They had a typical TD menu and I only cheated by eating the cranberry sauce.  We had a lovely dinner and told each other of many of the things we were thankful for in 2017.  It has been a good year!

Then we walked around La Jolla.  The Christmas lights are on and we have had spectacularly warm weather, nothing me in my white!!!  It was a very lovely day.
