Kathy Hardy turns 80!

Sunday after church Jeanne and I were went to dinner at the cabin home of Norma and her family.  The colors were beautiful in the canyon on the way up.

Norma and Brian are in the midst of bottling grape juice, (white and concord) and drying apples.

We had the most delicious dinner of pork roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, home grown veggies and a fruit salad plus Apple Crisp with nuts for dessert.  It was so amazing, I ate way too much!

Carole and the Thayne Boys

 

My sister and Stephie were dropping off some furniture at the cabin today and visited with the Thayne boys and checked out how their cabin is coming along.  Looks really great and I guess that largest log is 30 years old!

My sister Carole and her husband Len with daughter Steph went up to visit Cheri and Jeff Johnson, who are staying at the Relatives's Roost this week.  Cheri is my brother Dick's daughter.

Stephanie and Cheri grew up together in Glendive and have a nice reunion.

 

Jeff and Cheri have just sold their home in Wyoming and have bought a home in Pocatello, Idaho.  Jeff will be the manager of the new Herberger's store there.  What a great opportunity and they will be close to children in Rexburg as well!!

Cheri and Jeff's daughter Jenna was also there to enjoy the cabin this week.

Randy's daughter Charlie left a great touch to the cabin.

I don't have her memory of when I learned to ride a bike but I know it was an important part of my life in elementary school, high school, college not so much, and after Richard died

Bandido and I rode all over with my friend Nadine.  Marjorie and I tried it after I moved up here but my knees hurt so we didn't do it long and then Matt took it to Tahoe and there it is.

Funny Family Picture

Funny picture from the 1975 Anderson Reunion.  Linda and Eric Fuqua are the ones looking at the camera.  My mother is in the middle with Jon Fuqua.  Jon is kicking Kathy Anderson and caused a big commotion.  I did not see this until I posted it on Facebook and Maria noticed i and I had all the Fuqua boys named  wrong.  I thought Eric was Jimmy, he looks just like him.

Box for Mom and Dad's Photo Book

 

I found a box in the garage (of Matt's) that is just the size for storing Mom and Dad's Photo Book and Life Stories, etc up at the cabin.  I think it is good for the descendants to read about the legacy of my parents who built the Silver Gate cabin that they all  enjoy.

I had a calendar of old cars which I put on the outside (to denote the passage of time) and on the inside are scenes of Idaho.  They lived in Idaho for the last years of their life together. 

It is a huge box and took most of the day to complete.  My back is really aching.

Oh, yes, we also have Bruce here.  Matt called and had to get rid of him from the place he was living so Mitch drove to Tahoe to pick him up.  I must say he is a very well behaved dog so we all enjoy having him around.  The deer seem to  be steering clear of my place.  I hope it is because of the ribbons I have tied everywhere.  Evidently the movement keeps them away, at least that is the theory.  At any rate, Bruce has not had to chase any deer away since he arrived.  I know this is something he really enjoys, but oh well, I am glad they are afraid to venture in.

This is another fun picture I found today.  This was the day after my sister Carole's wedding in Pacific Beach.  I am on the left, then my Mom, sister-in-law Mary, Carole, and my sister Jeanne.  The children are Cheri ( Mary's daughter) Linda, Carole (Jeanne's daughter) and Johnny.  Evidently David and Marilyn did not come to the wedding.  Who had baby Maria?  In most of the pictures, Mary was holding her.  And I didn't see Richard in any of the beach pictures.  He must have had to work after taking off the day before for the wedding.

Cheri and Jeff Johnson with son Tanner.  Cheri is the daughter of my brother Dick and his wife Mary.  Jeff is Cheri's  husband and Tanner just left for a mission to Brazil.  My brother Dick married Mary while I was still in high school and they lived next door to our family.  I soon went to college and then off to California so have not gotten very well acquainted with Cheri's family.

Cheri and Jeff have seven children: Ashley 28 married to Brion with three children Madison 6, Kohl 2 1/2 and Jordyn 4 months; Derek 27 married to  Michelle with Kylee Jo 3 1/2; Andrew married to Megan;  Spencer 21 (just returned from Brazil); Tanner 19 (just left for Brazil); Andrea 17 and Jenna 11.
