Maria's Birthday November 15

.

I remember well the day Maria was born.  I went in for a regular check with my Dr. Rust.  Since  Linda had come naturally, he was waiting to see if we would do a cesarean or not.

He said that Maria had turned breech and it was too dangerous to do naturally and they would be doing a cesarean today.  He called another Dr in for a second opinion. and began to prepare.

I called Richard and he came in, not sure who was tending Linda and Johnny.  I ended up up with a beautiful baby and a lot of pain!!!  I was in a room with 3 others.  I complained about my nurse always being late with the pain pill.  They confirmed this was true.  I hobbled out to the pay phone and called Dr Rust and complained.  She was never late with that pain pill again.

For some reason I had a little depression, birth blues or whatever.  I kept a bassinet in the kitchen at home and I am afraid Maria got a few bottles instead of breast cuz it was so hard with Linda only 17 months and Johnny just barely 3.

The Doctor said I could have 3 cesareans so he did not tie my tubes or anything so we could have one more baby.

Maria was a real doll and Linda loved to take care of her.

I have both memories of the beaches of San Diego and the mountains of Lake Almanor.  Both great places to live but San Diego area is so expensive!!!!

Marissa's Shower in Utah and a Sleep Study for Me

The Pulsipher clan was up from California as well as Utah to attend the shower for Marissa at her Aunt's home.

Tanner and Marissa have rented an apartment and will be living there till after their baby is born in January.  It is in the Ogden area where Marissa's family lives and Tanner will be interning for a few months and then he goes to Las Vegas to intern.

In the picture is Sarah and Linda on each side of Marissa and Kristi from Las Vegas and Jeff's wife from Utah and her daughter next to Sarah.

I intended going with them but two situations changed my mind.  I had a sleep study done the night of November 12th and did not sleep too well plus we were having a covid outbreak at Treeo and decided it was best I did not attend a family function.

It was good we changed our plans.  I was sort of shocked when I found out I was going to have about 22 wires attached to my body but all went well till I woke about 12:30 and was told I would now have to have a mask on me to have this humid air flow in my nose for the rest of the night.

The problem was my nose was all stuffed and I could not breathe with the masks on.  We tried about 7 or so.  I tried putting saline in my nose and blowing but it was to no avail.

The attendant helping me had worked in respiratory before setting up this part of the American Fork Hospital as a Sleep Study area.  He was very learned in my problem and said he would go to another section of the hospital and find me a stronger saline mist than I had.  This worked fairly well but I was still very tired when I was waked at 6:30 and told I needed to get up and answer some questions and prepare to go home.

I did as I was told but it was still very dark out so he told me I could just stay in bed and sleep longer.

Dr. Walker has an appointment for me to see an ENT and see if my deviated septum needs work again or if he can get me to being able to not have a blocked nose so much of the time. The cancer I had on my nose made that nostril a lot smaller.  That should be interesting and then they want me to wear the mask and inhale the humid oxygen or whatever it is as it will make me much more rested every night..  The problem is I am waking up all the time and not going into deep sleep hardly at all.   If it isn't one thing it is another...but I would love to not be so tired.  I am just not excited about this mask thing...

My Sister Carole

I can't remember what Carole was showing me here but we often send pix back and forth when we get new glasses or whatever.  Anyway, she looks very pretty and it is a nice picture.  She will be 83 this year on the 12th of November.

Here is a funny picture of Carole and Mom and Carole's pets, she always had some around.

Mountains Viewed While Walking

I try and walk Sadie twice a day for 15 minutes each time.  The view of the mountains lately has been covered by clouds and snowing.  Sadie would like to walk faster.  She is always looking back and me and wondering why I have to walk so slow.  I have taking her off the leash as we head to back of Treeo just so she can run, run, run.

Covid!!!

Jeanne was acting weak and so Steven took Jeanne to her doctor on Oct 21.  Among other things she was tested for Covid and it came out positive so she has to quarantine for 10 days.

 Sunday night her
oxygen was low so Steven took her in and she perked right up.  However, they kept her at the hospital for a couple of days.

Treeo would not let her back in so she then had to go to Heritage Healthcare until 10 days are up.

At the hospital they said she was the oldest Covid patient and the healthiest Covid patient.

I also had to quarantine for 5 days and then test negatively which I did, two days in a row.  Steven had brought me the tests.  On the Friday when I talked to Jim Pratt he told me that a lady across the hall from Jeanne had tested positive but she was moving out so her children took her home.

Lea's Boyfriend

I had a chat with Lea and she is doing a little modeling and hopeful about her latest assignment.  She is also still working at the China place and going to ask for a raise.  She already makes a $1000 a week so doesn't feel going to college is worth it right now.

View from My Swing

This is the view from my swing in my little patio at Treeo.  I am looking forward to going through the fall season and see the leaves fall and change color.  Niether Sadie nor I spend much time sitting on the patio but we use the gate a lot to come and go.  Sadie gets her two walks a day and I try to make each one last 15 minutes so I get my walking in.

Document 115 Years Old

I have not been doing much family history but when I checked in I found Grayson Orr was trying to reach me.   He lived in Aunt Erica's house on 17th Street in Ogden from 2010 to 2019 and when they did a thorough cleaning when moving out found this in the basement.  It is the original wedding certificate of Erica and Theo from 1906!!!  I gave it to Steven to put with other original documents from the Larson and Anderson families.

Amber Fuqua Married at Cabin

Eric Fuqua's daughter had a wonderful wedding and sitdown dinner at Silvergate . Family Cabin.   I did not get many pictures but this is just a taste of what took place.  Sounds like it was a dream come true.  Excellent planning with wedding at cabin and sitdown dinner in a tent outside the lodge.

Marilyn Pulsipher Memorial Services

Fortunately I was able to listen to the services which were held in El Cajon, CA.  She had been living in Assisted Living in Springville and before that at Treeo in Orem.

It was an outstanding service for an outstanding person.  Marilyn is the mother of Linda's husband Gary.

Gary and Kim gave especially touching tributes to their mother.
